Phillips Kirk Labor, MD – Founder

A Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr. Labor is internationally known for his work in refractive surgery, bringing over 20 years of refractive and cataract expertise to Eye Consultants of Texas.

He was the first Texas ophthalmologist to implant the ReZoom premium lens for correcting distance, intermediate and near vision with cataract surgery, and first in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex to use the Verisyse implantable contact lens. Dr. Labor was the first solo private practitioner in the U.S. to acquire the Ziemer FEMTO LDV for all-laser, blade-free LASIK and selected to address international leaders on this advanced technology.

Dr. Labor was named one of “America’s Top Ophthalmologists” by the Top Ophthalmologist Consumers’ Research Council of America; he is an International College of Surgeons Fellow, and chosen as a Top Doc for Fort Worth and Tarrant County. In addition, he has been one of a select few U.S. eye surgeons chosen by companies like Bausch & Lomb to evaluate new ophthalmic products and technologies. His affiliations include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American College of Eye Surgeons, and Society For Excellence in Eye Care.

One of Dr. Labor’s proudest accomplishments was his 2009 mission to Kurdistan, Northern Iraq. It was here he was able to treat local citizens and educate local doctors by bringing more modern ophthalmic care to an underserved region.
